Makita MAC700 Review
The Makita MAC700 delivers industrial power and results with improved durability under tough job site conditions. The Makita MAC700 is made like a champ, with a roll-bar handle that protects your investment, a cast-iron cylinder for durability and an oil sight glass that makes maintenance a breeze.
Do-it-yourselfer’s may pass this unit up in search for a oil free option. That would be a mistake. This air compressor includes a cast iron pump with a big bore cylinder and piston, which delivers maximum high output performance, while being surprisingly quiet at only 80 decibels, basically a hum, making it a perfect choice for household use and basement workshops.

Here are some great features of the Makita MAC700:
- High output: Cast iron pump with big bore cylinder and piston, combined with greater bore and stroke, delivers maximum performance
- Low noise: Substantially lower noise levels with a large 1,720 – RPM pump-enabling greater displacement at lower RPM
- Low Amp Draw: Reduces incidences of tripped breakers and voltage drop that can cause premature motor failure
- Oil lubricated: Cooler running pump, minimizes wear
- One-year manufacturer’s warranty
The Makita MAC700 has all the attributes of a large high quality oil-lube compressor. The powerful low-rpm motor is great for finish nailers, car and bicycle tires, kids’ toys and weekend home projects. It’s a great addition to any home garage!
Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Makita MAC700:
I have had this compressor for a couple of weeks now and really like it. It is a high quality unit clearly built to last. I chose this model over the very popular oil-free pancake compressors mainly for it’s compact size and low noise level….and it did not dissappoint me. I would say this unit is half as loud as those typical oil-fee models by P*rter C*ble. I can easly run it indoors while remodeling a bedroom, and hardly hear in the room next door. (R. Koch)

The unique, patented high efficiency motor and high pressure pump is designed to never lose pressure. The DEWALT D55146 is convenient, with an oil free, maintenance free pump and is easy to move & store with pneumatic wheels. It’s the perfect compressor to choose if you need a lot of power and a low maintenance tool.
Here are some great features of the DEWALT D55146:
- 200 PSI max tank storage pressure provides a user with 80% more usable air than the industry leader
- 5.2 SCFM at 90 PSI allows the compressor to recover quickly after its initial tank charge is exhausted
- vertical stand feature and collapsible handle allows a user to save space by transporting or storing the compressor in a vertical position
- 78 dBA operational noise level for a quieter work environment
- 10-inch non-flat foam tires allow for easy transportation around the jobsite; Ehp efficient high pressure technology allows for longer pump and motor life
Quiet, fast, efficient, solidly built. Good features: heavy duty wheel kit, dual connections, good gauges & controls. However, be aware that the drain is not set to drain water completely from the tank in either the vertical or horizontal positions. This is a critical design flaw as residual water in the tank is a big cause of tank failure.
Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the DEWALT D55146:
The thing I like best about this compressor, is the fact that I will never lose pressure to my nail guns before the motor kicks on again. With my old compressor I had 125 psi after the motor kicked off, but after a dozen or so shots with my framing nailer, the pressure would drop to around 90 psi, and the motor wouldn’t kick on until about 85 psi, so sometimes the nails wouldn’t shoot all the way into the wood. With this compressor… (Rick)

It’s lightweight, easy to carry from job to job. Perfect for small renovation jobs. Very low noise, which is great for indoor projects. And, the little rubber suction feet keep the compressor from sliding and ruining your nice hardwood floors.
Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Senco PC1010:
As a general contractor I have several compressors. At least 90% of the time I grab an Emglo because they do everything I need except texturing. But I’ve grown fond of this little Senco WHEN IT IS USED PROPERLY! That means if I have a small trim project or a VERY small framing project it does the job, and both takes up less room and is a lot easier to pack around. It’ll drive 3″ framing nails no problem… (Bob H.)
